The Captain's Dream

Here is the story of a Captain,
who went away to fight the war.
He fell asleep beside the water.
He isn't fighting any more.
Drift away to dreams from fears and nightmares.
the water's turning into blood.
Somebody screamed about the captain,
his body sinking in the mud.

--- He kept his faith. He didn't know why,
To live and believe, and never to die. ---

Well he could tell the war was raging.
He went to fight it with a gun.
So came the death of our dear captain,
And on that day the war was won.

The preacher gave a blessing for his children.
That they might live forever more.
All for the dreams of their dear father,
That there might be an end to war.
