Friendly World

How can I say I love you if you ask me not to live?
Negative emotions are so hard to just forgive
I'm cleaning out my closet where I keep my Sunday Clothes
And all the dusty relics of the days that I have known

—Love is just a feeling that I didn't know I had
Until I looked into the friendly world
That we all want to have—

Going to the grocery store to buy my evening meal
I'm standing in the check out and I don't know how to feel
All the people coming there to feed their family tree
You can read about them in the books of history

When I think of loving you, I think about the sun
And all the people standing in the race that we have won
And though the world is turning, the future isn't yet
We can love our families but we can not forget
